Cowboy Coffee
Today’s fun fact is all about cowboys:
Tales tell that cowboys used a simple method of brewing their coffee – placing ground coffee beans in their (hopefully clean) socks. The socks acted as a readily available filter that was added to cold water. The water and sockful of coffee was heated over the morning’s or evening’s campfire. Once hot and brewed, the coffee was poured into tin cups and enjoyed by all.
Perhaps you can try this method the next time you are camping!
