New Orleans has always been one of North America’s most important ports. It is also the birthplace of coffee flavored with chicory dating back to the Civil War when French residents added ground chicory root as a way of helping coffee rations to last longer. Our Decaffeinated New Orleans Chicory coffee beans are 100% high grade, mountain-grown Colombian coffee beans. The green Colombian coffee beans are naturally decaffeinated prior to roasting then blended with chicory to retain more of a roasted flavor. The result is a full-bodied cup of coffee with a near chocolate flavor and without the caffeine. Due to production techniques, this coffee is only available in drip grind.
